FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
November 20, 2006
(Dallas, TX) -– BAF Technologies, the premier provider of natural gas and propane vehicle upfits, announced that it received the National NGV Achievement Award given by NGV America and the Clean Vehicle Education Foundation. The award was presented to the company at the National NGV Conference.
The prestigious awards are given to NGV industry equipment and service suppliers, policy-makers, customers and clean-air/clean transportation advocates for their contributions in NGV education, government relations, policy development, public relations, marketing, technology development and operations.
“We are clearly honored to receive this award,” says John Bacon, president. “BAF has worked diligently since 1992 to not only convert more than 9,000 vehicles, but also to promote natural gas as a viable alternative to gasoline.”
In 2006, BAF achieved SULEV certification from CARB and EPA for the 2006 Ford Crown Victoria (Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car) by employing its proprietary technology. This milestone means that hundreds of fleet vehicles will now have a ready alternative fuel option. At the time of the nomination in 2006, BAF had upfitted more than 100 Crown Vics to be used as Taxis in New York, California and Arizona. In addition, the company has contracts for 300 more vehicles this year alone. Having more vehicles on the road used by the public, promotes the technology and the fuel as a viable alternative to foreign oil.
The nomination process also considered BAF’s business practices, record of innovation and proactive practices of promoting NGVs. BAF provided information on its work with other industry leaders, number of vehicles converted and information about its SULEV technology as part of the review process.
