"I wish to welcome you to the New York/ Northeast Natural Gas Vehicle Partnership website. This partnership was formed to bring together business, government, and other interested individuals or parties to develop comprehensive strategies which can lead America's transition from the foreign petroleum dependence of the past to the domestic energy security of the future. We believe that natural gas represents America's best hope to achieve energy independence and environmental protection, which will greatly affect our national security for the short term and for future generations of American's. Natural gas vehicles are the cleanest and most cost effective solution for relieving our dependence on foreign oil and building pathways to the future. Compressed Natural Gas, (CNG) and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) are essential building blocks in those pathways. LNG improves our energy security by turning landfill and waste gas, (methane) into energy."
